2010 Registration

Yes, it’s that time of year again and this is what’s on tap for the BPLL 2010 season.

BPLL was the A.S.A.P. winner at the 2009 Little League World Series. BPLL finished 1st in the country for our safety awareness program and was awarded a lighting package that will be installed on a Jackson Township field this spring.

This year BPLL will provide umpires for the minor divisions and up for all home games.

We are also excited to announce that the concession stands will be opened back up this year along with starting a 16-18 girls softball team.

Opening day ceremonies and pictures are scheduled for April 24, 2010.

The new BPLL Board has decided to lower registration fees due to the economic times.

To help accommodate everyone’s busy schedule we will have two registration dates during the week and two on Saturdays.

Northeast Titans Baseball Clinic

Northeast Titans Baseball Club and Coach Blaine Fardella will be offering 8 & 9 year old Winter Indoor Baseball Instruction. This program will run thru January, February and March of 2010. This program will teach our young players the proper fundamentals and techniques of every skill and position regardless of current talent level or size. Each member will learn the proper way to throw and catch. Each member will perform drills and learn skills in the following positions:

Throwing. Infield Outfield Pitching Catching Hitting Bunting

Don't let your child be the player who "SITS THE BENCH". Come join the Titans Baseball Club clinic and let us teach your child the confidence they need to love the game of baseball. Imagine your child being in mid season form right from the first pitch of the spring season!!!! Every year we watch our young players talent level and confidence rise to new heights and help them in every part of there young lives. This year we are starting even younger.

Indoor practices are held in Mount Pocono. Your child will enjoy 3-4 instructors per session. Two Batting Cages, Four Pitching stations and drills for all positions. This would make a fantastic Christmas gift for a loved one. One or two visits to a batting cage far away would cost more than our local program and we will give your child so much more!!!!

You can sign up online right now by visiting the Northeast Titans website.. If you need more information or have any questions, please Call Blaine Fardella at 570-994-2725 or email him at titans15@ptd.net.

Congratulations Big Pocono!

LLBCorporateLogo_152px Big Pocono Little League in Pennsylvania is 2009 ASAP Award Winner

Little League Baseball and Softball is intent on providing a rewarding experience for all Little Leaguers, and through ASAP (A Safety Awareness Program), Big Pocono Little League servicing Tannersville and Reeders, Pa., has helped its players, coaches, and volunteers play the game safely.

Started in 1995, ASAP encourages Little League volunteers to submit details of successful safety programs that have been adopted in their league for publication nationwide. The program enables local leagues to share concepts and methods of addressing safety issues, providing possible solutions to safety concerns. Since the inception of the ASAP program, the number of injuries reported has been reduced by 75 percent.

“Participation in the ASAP program continues to reinforce Little League’s commitment to health and safety,” Dan Kirby, Director of Risk Management for Little League Baseball and Softball, said. “Being involved in ASAP provided local communities with the assurance these leagues place their children’s well-being as a top priority. Local league participation in this volunteer program has risen to 85 percent, which is a tribute to all those volunteers who recognize the value of the program. It is our hope that other leagues will follow the lead of this year’s ASAP award winners, and better appreciate the importance of keeping all Little League participants safe.”

The ASAP National Award went to Big Pocono Little League of the East Region. The league won a new set of Musco ball field lights. Regional winners were:

Central Region: Hopkins Area Little League, Hopkins, Minn.
Southeastern Region: Lewis Little League, Weston, W. Va.
East Region: Big Pocono Little League, Tannersville/Reeders, Pa.
West Region: Redrock Little League, Las Vegas, Nev.
Southwestern Region: Odem Little League, Texas

The ASAP initiative is co-sponsored by Chartis Insurance and Musco Sports Lighting. It includes awards, a monthly newsletter, and more than $689,000 in monetary incentives that were recently distributed to local leagues and districts. In addition, because of increased ASAP participation and reduced injury claims, the premiums for several states have been reduced in recent years - in an era when insurance rates seem only to be increasing.

Little League Baseball and Softball is the world’s largest organized youth sports program, with nearly 2.7 million players and one million adult volunteers in every U.S. state and scores of other countries.

On behalf of all Big Pocono Little League families, we thank our 2008 and 2009 committees for their time and efforts in preparing our National Award Winning Safety Manual
